Robert Phillips
As founder and director, Robert has nurtured the growth of Travel Motives from
its humble beginnings in 1992 to a multimillion dollar company employing over
20 full time staff. Whilst in Europe, Robert's passion for his native South Africa
was contagious and soon he returned home to realise his dream of promoting
the beauty and heritage of Africa. His creative, innovative and focussed approach
has gained him respect and admiration from clients and industry peers alike.

Eleanor Bloem
As a director and shareholder of Travel Motives and with many years experience within the travel and tourism sector, Eleanor is an integral part of who and what Travel Motives has become. She has extensive industry knowledge and a loyal clientele. Eleanor maintains a tight control over the daily operations of the business while still dedicating time to exploring new business ventures. With true entrepreneurial spirit she sees Travel Motives growing into South Africa’s foremost incentive travel company, whilst retaining its focused and personal client approach.

Kananelo Makhetha
Kananelo Makhetha is non-executive director of Travel Motives and is tasked with
providing strategic business support. He has more than 25 years experience and
has held the positions of president of ASATA and Chairman of Tourism, Hospitality
and Sports Education & Training Authority (THETA). Today he is managing director
of Connex Travel as well as a shareholder of Shumi Investment Holdings, a black
investment company with various interests within the tourism and hospitality sectors.
